Garlic.

The veg patch is really not overly inspiring this year, with the rather crazy weather I think we will be lucky to harvest much. The first of the crops is our garlic, I planted any old bits I had lying around plus a few giant garlic bulbs donated by my mum. And look!

The giant garlic plant itself is taller than Arthur who is sporting a vintage gardening look! I also want to add my thanks for all your wonderful words of support, it so very much to me and my family. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

  1. Oh Charlotte, lovely garlic! I'm off to the plot tomorrow to see what I can salvage...finger's crossed! Devon is lovely, but I wish it would stop raining, just for a few weeks each year ;) xx

  2. Charlotte, Yea... Our gardens are not producing well either. This has been the hottest and most dry summer , we have seen in a long time..
    Arthur looks adorable...

  3. I've taken on an allotment this year and I'm really struggling, I have plants ready on the windowsill to go into the ground but I need to get a fence built first as the rabbits have been eating everything.

  6. That is some giant garlic! All Arthur needs is a flat cap I think and maybe some string? Glad to see he's mucking in and helping mummy in the garden!

  7. What impressive garlic! I'm hoping to try growing it for the first time next year.
I hope your other veggies do well. We've been so dry here---I hope it doesn't stunt too many of our plants.

  9. Yay for homegrown garlic! My only garden is a tomato plant I got from a friend who grew it from seeds for my birthday. As we're having similar weather, I'm glad that I have no balcony to drown it on and it's sitting smug on my windowsill growing blossoms. :D

  11. Hi everyone, it certainly seems a hard year for the green fingered of us! I'm sure we will all have some lovely goodies soon, I hear the sun is on it's way.
Judy, good news on the home front, Simon has work for the next six weeks. I am still looking, getting closer each tie I apply. Although I have taken a leap of faith and enrolled on a distance learning course. Onwards and upwards!
