Pin Cushion swap : give away.

Hello all!

So totally exciting, this is the first post of the pin cushion swap, and what a treat we have the most lovely lady sharing her goodies with us. Diana has been so kind to offer one of her pin cushions as prize. But first a little more about Diana herself.

Hi There!

I am Daina Chavez, Founder of FrenchFwries Shop on Etsy and Store Envy. I love making all kinds of things with my hands, i’ve dwelled deep into the art of knitting, crocheting, painting, jewelry making, welding, and my latest adventure- sewing! I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba by my mother and grandmother who both emphasized my artisan skills. At a young age i learned to sew, and i remember always digging through a button jar at my grandma’s house to find something special to sew onto my newest project and as i sat back down with my grandma to sew, i remember thinking her pincushion, was...well...ugly. I wanted something that represented me, a pretty something, that could act like a jar, but also a pin cushion, and from then on, i became obsessed with cute, functional pincushions.

i moved on to making my own sewing pins too (because honestly, the craft stores don't offer much of a selection...) and it came to me one day that if i combined my love for those three things together, each pincushion would be kind of like a treasure box to open. So to this day, i package my pincushions with a love for attention to detail, and care. I make sure to carefully select an array of buttons and ribbons to hide inside the glass jar, from my own jar of buttons, and everytime i send out one of my custom pieces, it makes me happy knowing that someone else is going to get their own mini treasure box to open.

Even now, as a 21 year old, i don't forget my background how everything i learned came from those two wonderful women in my life and in honor of how wonderful mothers are, i want to offer one lucky person one of my most fun and useful items-my Capacious Pincushion! Closing date is Sunday GMT London 8pm.

The winner will have to contact myself or Rachel directly to claim your prize within one week. 

The winner will be announced on May 15th 2012.
