I had this wonderful dress, must be '40s or '50s. A heavy fabric maybe linen. Sadly now way would it fit but it has also be rather moth eaten. But worth saving as much as possible just look at the print.
So I'm not the most cleverest of refashionists, in fact some may think it's a terrible waste but all I did was make a little elastic waste band. Although I rather like my finished product, sadly it really wont last for long, as the fabric is rather old and falling apart. I' m glad to have a little life in it for the summer.
I'm so pleased you saved it, you can enjoy it for a while longer... lovely print.
ReplyDeletethat was definitely worth saving,... love the skirt
ReplyDeleteEven if it lasts for one summer it was worth saving it, it looks great :) xx
ReplyDeleteWell worth the saving. I love the skirt and thr fabric is amazing.. Enjoy as long as you can.. Happy refashion..
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous print - definitely a good idea to refashion it. I hope it lasts longer than you think!
ReplyDeleteIt's a sweet print. I'm glad you're giving it a little more action in life.
ReplyDeleteMaybe after it's second life as a skirt, you can transform it into something decor-related. You know, something that won't get a lot of physical wear but would be nice to look at.
Oooh its lovely and definitely worth saving, that fabric is too pretty not to! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous fabric! It's so satisfying when you can get another use out of something so lovely!
